"CLUMSY" embraces a deliberate lack of coordination to rethink how we inhabit a home. Taking the form of a heavy, bulbous shell hovering awkwardly on thin legs in a forested landscape, the project immediately breaks away from standard architectural habits.

Inside, the design categorizes the house into distinct "hard" and "soft" zones, but uses deliberate errors to scramble them. The jagged, intersecting interior walls visible in the physical models show how these spaces awkwardly collide, such as dropping a soft, relaxing space directly into the middle of a hard, utilitarian kitchen.

While the final object is carefully constructed, using clumsiness as a working method helped break free from preconceived norms. These unexpected moments, both in the building's lumbering exterior posture and its tangled interior, force you to pay attention to the space, uncovering entirely new ways to experience dwelling.
